Vietnam petrol traders to pay environmental protection fees

Petroleum traders in Vietnam will have to pay environmental protection fees ranging between VND3,000 (US$0.16) and VND4,000 (US$0.21) per liter, according to a draft law being formed by the Ministry of Finance. The traders will have to pay between VND1,000 (US$0.05) and VND4,000 (US$0.21) per liter for gasoline, between VND500 (US$0.03) and VND2,000 (US$0.11) per liter for diesel, between VND300 (US$0.02) and VND2,000 (US$0.11) per liter for fuel oil and lubricant, the draft law said. Vietnam spends VND4 trillion (US$209.4 million) a year from the state budget for environment protection. (March 16, 2010)
