Vietnam hit with acetone-tainted gasoline

Petrolimex and the Military Petroleum Co. (Mipeco) admitted that the poor quality petrol that recently caused massive vehicle breakdowns in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, was imported from Singapore-based Glencore, local media reported. About 200 cubic meters of knowledge_base gasoline was distributed to Petrolimex filling stations in Ho Chi Minh City from August 21-24. “Petrolimex is contacting the supplier to clarify the high content of acetone,” said an official from Petrolimex, which has more than 60% market share of the Vietnamese petroleum market.
