Vehicle engine sales in China hit record high in January

In the first month of 2011, 1.72 million vehicles were sold in China, the highest ever monthly sales according to China’s Association of Automobile Association. During the same period, 55 vehicle engine enterprises in China produced 1.69 million vehicles. The association ranked the top 15 vehicle engine producers as Chongqing Changan Auto, FAW-VW Auto, Chery Auto, SGMW, Guangxi Yuchai Machinery, Shanghai GM Power, Liuzhou Wuling Liuji Power, Hyundai Motor, Dongfeng Nissan Passenger Vehicle, Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW, Weichai Power, Geely, Anhui Quanchai and Dongfeng Peugeot Citroen Automobile. The top five companies produced more than 25.19% of total output. Meanwhile, diesel vehicle engine sales rose 13.22% to 404,300 units in January. Production in January reached 418,800 units. Top-ranked diesel engine producers were Guangxi Yuchai Machinery, FAW, Weichai Power, Anhui Quanchai, Yunnei Power, Dongfeng Automobile, SINOTRUK, Dongfeng Chaoyang Diesel, Shandong Huanyuan, Laidong Internal-Combustion Engine, JMC and Weichai Power Yangchai.
