UTP and Mitsubishi collaborate to establish biofuel research center

A new biofuel research center has been established at the Petronas University of Technology’s (UTP) Center for Biofuel and Biochemical Research (CBBR), through collaboration between the university and Japan’s Mitsubishi Corp. This collaborative effort was established through a memorandum of understanding between the university and Mitsubishi. The goal of CBBR is to become the leading center for biomass research in Asia, producing biomass utilization researchers and engineers. According to UTP Director Datuk Zainal Abidin Kasim, CBBR will be working to become a key member of a global alliance between biomass utilization centers in Asia. (February 25, 2011)
