University receives grants for biofuel research
Research into biofuels made from algae is the big winner in the latest round of federal science funding at the University of Adelaide in Australia. The university won A$2.5 million (US$2.14 million) for nine projects with industry links, under the Australian Research Council’s Linkage Projects Scheme. The biggest grant of A$460,000 (US$394,453) went to the School of Chemical Engineering for research into biofuel from micro algae grown in salty ponds. (June 25, 2010)
