Unioil begins construction of new retail gas stations
Unioil Petroleum Philippines is expected to spend approximately Php240 million (US$5.5 million) on a plan to construct 20 additional retail gas stations and to modernize their oil terminal. The new retail stations will be built in Metro Manila according to Unioil President Kenneth Pundanera. The company currently has 40 stations in the Metro Manila area. “The expansion program is not finalized yet, but in the pipeline, we have 10 stations that are currently under construction. While ten are already being put up, the other 10 stations are still being negotiated. We focus on Metro Manila more to make our stations more visible,” Pundanera said. Unioil’s oil terminal in Lucanin, Bataan, will be modernized at a cost of Php40 million (US$921,000). The terminal has a capacity of one million barrels and has 22 storage tanks.
