U.S. GreenGold delays start-up of biodiesel plant
U.S.-based GreenGold Ray Energies has once again delayed the start-up of its jatropha oil-based biodiesel plant in the Philippines to the second quarter of 2010, but it has denied talks that the project has been shelved due to competition from palm oil based-biodiesel, a source close to the company said. GreenGold’s biodiesel plant at Nasipit port, Agusan del North, is set to have a production capacity of 180 million gallons per year. In September 2009, the company said it was targeting to start up the plant in 2010, following a delay from an earlier target of mid-2009. (February 1, 2010)
