Transport policy to focus on utilization of biofuel
India will include the utilization of biofuel and other measures that can ensure pollution-free ambiance in its comprehensive transport policy that will be implemented shortly, Minister for Transport R. Ashok said. He made this disclosure at the inaugural session of an interactive workshop organized by the Karnataka Road Transport Corporation on the occasion of World Environment Day. Secretary to the Department of Transport M.K. Shankaralinge Gowda said that the government was planning to create “green space” for reducing the pollution level by planting saplings that could absorb carbon oxides at bus terminals, depots and auto rickshaw stands in a phased manner across the state.
