TPPI delays gasoline production

Indonesia’s Trans-Pacific Petrochemical Indotama (TPPI) has delayed its planned production of gasoline mainly because of stronger aromatics margins, industry sources said. TPPI was earlier scheduled to start gasoline production at its Tuban complex in late July or early August but is instead now maximizing aromatics output at the expense of gasoline. The TPPI aromatics complex which revolves around a 100,000 barrel per day (bpd) condensate splitter has the capacity to produce up to 50,000 bpd of gasoline after completing a revamp in February. Located in East Java, TPPI’s aromatics complex restarted operations in mid-June after being shuttered for nearly a year since July 2008. (August 13, 2009)
