Toyota to showcase fuel-efficient compact hybrid, green vehicles

Toyota said it will showcase a new compact hybrid vehicle in the Tokyo Motor Show in December. The compact hybrid will have the worldโ€™s best fuel economy of 35 km per liter of gasoline. The compact hybrid, called AQUA, comes with a hybrid system that is more than 40 kilograms lighter than the Prius. The Japanese automaker will also feature a fuel cell vehicle called the FCV-R, which is a mid-sized sedan scheduled for release in 2015. Also to be showcased in the motor show is the FT-EV, an electric concept vehicle, which has a three-hour charging time and can travel 105 kilometers per charge. (November 15, 2011)
