Toyota to showcase fuel-efficient compact hybrid, green vehicles

Toyota said it will showcase a new compact hybrid vehicle in the Tokyo Motor Show in December. The compact hybrid will have the world’s best fuel economy of 35 km per liter of gasoline. The compact hybrid, called AQUA, comes with a hybrid system that is more than 40 kilograms lighter than the Prius. The Japanese automaker will also feature a fuel cell vehicle called the FCV-R, which is a mid-sized sedan scheduled for release in 2015. Also to be showcased in the motor show is the FT-EV, an electric concept vehicle, which has a three-hour charging time and can travel 105 kilometers per charge. (November 15, 2011)
