Toyota Motor plans to invest Rp4 trillion in Indonesia

Indonesia’s trade Minister Gita Wirjawan announced that Toyota Motor Corp. plans to invest some Rp4 trillion (US$434.32 million) in the country. But the minister did not elaborate on the Japanese carmaker’s plans. Indonesia’s domestic car sales in 2011 were up 16.9% from the previous year, reaching a record-high of 894,180 cars. The fast growth was spurred by very low interest rates and a growing middle class. (February 8, 2012)
