Toyota funds production of mini biogas-fueled dynamos

Japans Toyota Motor Corp. has recently decided to fund production of 1,000 mini biogas-fueled electricity generators in central Danang city, the municipal Science Application Center said. The dynamos invented by Prof. Bui Van Ga, rector of Danang University, is capable of saving energy and will cause no negative effects on the environment, the Thanh Nien newspaper reported. Vietnam is facing an adverse power thirst, which is estimated at 560 million kwh during this dry season. The figure is forecast to climb to 8.6 billion kwh for all of 2008. The country is encouraging people nationwide to save electricity and use electricity generators instead of power from the national grid. (June 12, 2008)
