Toyota expects global vehicle sales to rise 6%
Toyota Motor Corp. said it estimates its global vehicle sales in 2010 to reach 8.27 million units, up six percent from the previous year. The figure includes sales projections for subsidiaries Daihatsu Motor Co. and Hino Motors Ltd., the top Japanese automaker said. Toyota believes that economic stimulus measures by major countries will continue to contribute to a recovery in vehicle demand worldwide. Of the total, sales are estimated at 2.13 million units in Japan, up 7%, and at 6.14 million units abroad, up 6%, Toyota said. (January 26, 2010)
