Total Lubricants opens new warehouse in New Zealand
Total Lubricants recently opened a new warehouse in Braeburn Lane, Stoke, a suburb in Nelson, New Zealand. The new warehouse, which can hold about 270,000 liters of lubricants, was built because of an increase in domestic demand for lubricants.
Wayne Burgess, national sales manager of Total Lubricants, said that the company’s Fayette Lane facility, which has a capacity of 80,000 liters, ran out of room. The company started using the new 1,000 square meter warehouse in August, with a staff of five.
The increased demand for lubricants is the result of a new strategy, which focuses on faster-delivery and a 24/7 operation. Burgess said the new marketing scheme has led to a significant increase from smaller clients. “We made a conscious decision to go on-call 24/7 and it helped give us a massive point of difference to our competitors,” he explained. While the bigger oil industry players, Mobil, BP and Shell, concentrated on bigger clients, Total honed in on the smaller customers. (November 19, 2012)
