TNK Lubricants wins major supply contracts

TNK Lubricants, a subsidiary of TNK-BP, and the exclusive supplier of specialized lubricants to companies in the SIBUR group operating in chemically aggressive environments, is to supply 3,000 tons of innovative lubricants worth a total of 135 million rubles (US$4.6 million) to Russian companies MMK, SIBUR, Evraz Group and OGK-4 this year. One of the biggest users of TNK Lubricants’ products is the Magnitogorsk Metals Combine (OJSC MMM), to which 2,160 tons are to be supplied this year along with 700 tons to SIBUR. TNK’s next-generation turbine oil which is known as Turbo ER 46 has been chosen for initial use in a new 400-MW Siemens gas turbine unit at OGK-4’s Yaivinskaya power plant. According to Maxim Khoroshenkov, general director of TNK Lubricants, Turbo ER 46 is the only oil developed and produced inside Russia that meets Siemens’ operating requirements. “Innovative lubricants are vitally important for today’s hi-tech industry in order to survive against tough competition on the global markets,” he says.(February 17, 2011)
