Tianjin FAW to mass-produce engines

Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China FAW Group Corp. (FAW), is now busy with the construction of its new engine base, whose first phase is about to start mass-production in March 2009. The new engine base will require a total investment of 1.4 billion yuan (US$204.38 million) and will be capable of producing 400,000 engines per year. The project, which covers 180,000 square meters, will be implemented in two phases. (August 21, 2008)
