Thenergo divests Thai jatropha assets

Belgian biomass energy company Thenergo said it has disposed of two jatropha projects in Thailand, to focus on its core combined heat and power (CHP) business. The company has struck a deal with a Thai equipment supplier for its jatropha-oil production plants and has terminated the services agreement with its local partner. The jatropha-related investments resulted in a write-off of 3 million euros (US$4.32 million) in 2008 and 2 million euros (US$2.88 million) in the first half of 2009, Thenergo said. (January 21, 2010)
