Thar Technologies to build biodiesel plant in India
U.S.- technology company Thar Technologies Inc. revealed plans to construct a biodiesel plant in Rajasthan, India. The construction of a plant would allow the company to take advantage of the state’s policy encouraging investments in biodiesel feedstocks, the company said. Rajasthan officials had entailed allotment of 30% cultivable wasteland to the private sector. According to media reports, Thar is looking for a suitable 20 acre site in Jaipur, where it would grow jatropha and karanj for use as feedstocks. (March 23, 2009)
