Thailand’s oil refineries tighten security measures
Thailand’s oil refiners are maintaining strict security measures for fear of violence after the Supreme Court ordered the seizure of ousted Thaksin Shinawatra’s assets, said Surong Bulakul, chief executive officer of Thai Oil (TOP), the Bangkok Post reports. Anusorn Sangnimnuan, president of Bangchak Petroleum (BCP), the state majority-owned refiner, said the company resumed daily delivery of all petroleum products from depots to the Greater Bangkok area, which it had temporarily halted for fear of violence. He said all Bangchak petrol stations earlier ordered higher volumes of petrol than usual as they wanted to stock up in case of emergency. (March 3, 2010)
