Thailand to tighten vapor control
Thailand’s Energy Ministry enacted a regulation on January 26 that will require Stage I Vapor Recovery Systems at petrol stations, oil depots and tank trucks in the Bangkok Metropolitian area, as well as nearby areas such as Nonthaburi, Pratuthani and Samutprakan. Stage II Vapor Recovery Systems will required for petrol stations located near residential areas. The ministry plans to extend the coverage area in seven other provinces,ย i.e. Chonburi, Ayuthaya, Rayong, Songhkla, Samutsakorn, Saraburi and Suratthani. The effective date of implementation depends on the judiciary process, according to a source in the ministry. (February 16, 2007)
