Thailand’s energy use forecasts to grow by 4.8%
Thailand’s commercial energy consumption in 2010 grew 7.3% to 1.785 million barrels per day (bpd) amid high economic growth, Energy Minister Wannarat Channukul said. Assuming the current momentum of global economic recovery continues, energy consumption in Thailand is expected to grow 4.8% in 2011 to 1.87 million bpd, he said. Crude oil imports, however, are forecast to slip slightly by 0.1% to 801,400 bpd. (December 28, 2010)
