Thai demand for oil products up 2% in July
Thailand’s demand for oil products, excluding bitumen and liquefied petroleum gas, rose 2.06% in July to 573,682 barrels per day (bpd) compared to the same period a year ago. Demand rose as the local economy recovered, boosting business activity, transport and industrial use of petrolem products. Rising agricultural prices also boosted the use of commercial vehicles to transport agricultural products, resulting in a 63% increase in demand for high speed diesel fuel. Sales of gasohol, which is a mix of 91-octane gasoline and 10% ethanol, rose 2.4% from a year ago while sales of jet fuel 1 rose 11.7% and fuel oil 12.9%. (August 25, 2011)
