Thai and Japanese researchers to develop joint biofuel project
Thai and Japanese researchers plan to develop a joint biofuel project in an attempt to support the country’s energy security in the face of rising world demand for crude oil, the Bangkok Post reports. A memorandum of understanding will be signed in December by the National Science and Technology Development Agency and Japan’s Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. A five-year laboratory trial will begin in January with financial support of ¥80 million (US$885,876) a year from the Japan International Cooperation Agency. (October 22, 2009)
