Tajikistan begins construction of first oil refinery

Construction has begun on Tajikistan’s first oil processing plant located in the Shahrinav district, west of the capital city of Dushanbe. The new plant will process 100,000 tons of crude oil per year. Official data indicates that the country of Tajikistan spends an average of US$343 million for oil product every year. (July 24, 2011)
