Taiwan’s May product demand up 1.1%
Taiwan’s total oil product demand rose 1.1% in May from a year earlier, following a 5% increase in April, official data showed. Gasoline demand fell by 11.8% year-on-year, and down 4.2% from the previous month. Diesel consumption declined as well by 1.3% from April and down 2.6% year-on-year. Crude oil imports fell 0.3% year-on-year for a second straight month, on the back of a 5.7% decrease in refinery throughput for the same period. (July 8, 2010)
