Taiwan to boost biodiesel blends
Taiwan will double the percentage of biodiesel blends in petroleum diesel this year, the Ministry of Economic Affairs’ Bureau of Energy said. It is estimated that the consumption of biodiesel in Taiwan will increase to 100 million liters this year, the bureau said in a press release. Since July 2008, Taiwan has required a 1% biodiesel blend. The decline in the use of traditional petroleum diesel has amounted to a fall in carbon dioxide emissions of 180,000 tons, the bureau said.
