Suzuki to up India two-wheel production
Suzuki Motor Corp. will increase its production capacity for scooters and motorcycles in India by 47% to 250,000 vehicles a year by June 2009 to meet rising demand, its local unit said. Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt. Ltd. produces two-wheelers at a factory at Gurgaon, in the northern state of Haryana. The company sells three motorcycle models and a scooter model in the country. Suzuki also recently introduced two high-end motorcycles—the 1340 cc Hayabusa and the 1783 cc Intruder M1800R—in India. (November 26, 2008)
