Suzuki restructures marketing operations in Thailand
Japan’s Suzuki Motor is set to restructure its marketing operations in Thailand, reports the Nation. As part of this, it will acquire a stake in Suzuki Automobile Thailand (SAT) from the Pornprapa family and merge it with Suzuki Automobile Manufacturing Thailand (SAMT). The merger is scheduled for completion before the end of the first quarter of 2011. The move is in line with Suzuki’s plans to start producing “eco-cars” with 1.3-liter gasoline (petrol) engines in Thailand from early 2012 at its Rayong plant. (December 3, 2009)
