Suzuki Motor to construct Miyakoda Technical Center

Japan’s Suzuki Motor Corp. said it will build a technical center in the Miyakoda Industrial Park, located north of central Hamamatsu, in Shizuoka Prefecture. The Miyakoda Technical Center will develop and engineer motorcycles and next-generation environmental vehicles. A factory will also be constructed in the same location for the assembly of motorcycle engines. The company’s current motorcycle development and engineering departments located in Iwata City and the development department in charge of creating next-generation environmental vehicles in Hamamatsu will be transferred to Miyakoda in 2016. The assembly plant will commence operations in 2017. (July 12,2011)
