Supermarket to sell petrol at self-service pumps
Pak’n Save plans to install petrol pumps in the car park of its South Dunedin store in New Zealand, with motorists possibly getting discounts of up to 10 cents (US$0.08) a liter on fuel. Foodstuffs (South Island) Properties Ltd. has applied for consent to build an unmanned service station in the supermarket’s car park, a first for Dunedin. Surveys showed that 95% of those buying fuel were likely to be customers of a supermarket in the same complex. The fuel would be marketed under the Pak’n Save brand, although sourced from BP.
