SRC restarts "green" fuel project

Singapore Refining Co. (SRC), with new partner Chinese oil giant PetroChina on board, has started design work on a “green” gasoline plant and co-generation facility, reviving a US$300-US$400 million investment that was put on hold 12 months ago because of the global economic downturn. The project follows the completion last year of an US$81 million revamp of SRC’s hydro-sulfurizer to produce ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel. The clean gasoline project will take about nine months.
