SPVs have 40% share of China’s total truck production

After four decades of development, China has formed a considerable capacity in special-purpose motor vehicle production and the annual output of such vehicles now tops 500,000 units, or some 40% of the country’s total truck production. In particular, heavy-duty special-purpose vehicles have a weight exceeding 70% in the national output of heavy-duty trucks, according to the Special Purpose Vehicles (SPV) Branch of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. Special-purpose motor vehicles made in China currently boast nearly 5,000 varieties for such fields as transportation, urban construction, environmental sanitation, municipal works, petroleum and chemical industry and banking.
