South Korea’s oil exports bounce back in Q3
South Korean oil product exports rebounded in the third quarter after they declined in the first half, primarily due to a surge in exports to Chile. Overseas shipments of oil products reached 245.8 million barrels in the January-September period, up 0.5% from a year earlier, according to data released by state-run Korea National Oil Corp. (KNOC). “Exports of oil products in the first half fell 2.1% compared with last year, but picked up in the third quarter as exports of oil products to Chile rose 54.7% from a year ago,” a KNOC official said.
