South Korea to commercialize DME-fueled vehicles
South Korea will commercialize automobiles running on dimethyl ether (DME) beginning 2013. According to the Ministry of Knowledge Economy, the South Korean government will publish a special notice for DME commercialization next month, and supply DME on a trial basis beginning December this year. Once the notice is enacted, an LPG-DME fuel mix with a ratio of 8:2 is to be first supplied to residential and commercial establishments, through an existing LPG infrastructure starting this December.
