Sinopec Zhenhai to start producing Euro IV gasoline
Sinopec Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co. said it will complete its 1.5 million metric ton per year gasoline desulfurization unit in the city of Zhejiang by the end of this year, which will allow it to produce Euro IV-compliant gasoline with a maximum sulfur content of 50 parts per million (ppm). Currently, Beijing is the only city in China that mandates the use of National Standard IV grade gasoline, which is equivalent to Euro IV, though Shanghai will follow suit in October. Other refineries which already produce Euro IV-compliant gasoline are PetroChina’s Dalian and Jinzhou refineries and Sinopec’s Beijing Yanshan refinery. (July 23, 2009)
