Sinopec to develop recharging service stations for EVs

Sinopec is to develop recharging service stations for electric vehicles, Wang Tianpu, the company’s president, told Shanghai Securities News. Sinopec is also to set foot in the fuel ethanol and biodiesel businesses as well as coal-bed methane (CBM) research and development. According to Wang, the company is collaborating with COFCO, China’s leading agriculture and food industrial developer, which is engaged in fuel ethanol projects in Henan, Anhui and Guangxi provinces. More projects are now being planned in Jiangxi and Hainan provinces. (April 1, 2010)
