Sinopec to begin construction of Beihai-Nanning oil pipeline

China’s largest refiner, Sinopec Corp., plans to start work on its 230 kilometer Beihai-Nanning oil products pipeline in southern China’s Guangxi province by the end of April, the Beihai Daily newspaper reported. Construction on the pipeline, which is designed to handle 8 million metric tons per year (MTPY) of gasoline and gasoil, is expected to be completed by the end of the year, the report said. The pipeline is part of the company’s expansion project at its integrated oil and petrochemical complex at Beihai, and will help Sinopec consolidate its dominant position in Guangxi’s oil products market, industry sources said.
