Sinopec starts building Kunming-Dali oil products pipeline

China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (Sinopec), Asia’s top refiner, has started building a fuel pipeline linking Kunming with Dali in southwestern China’s Yunnan province, parent Sinopec Group said. The 323-kilometer pipeline plus three fuel substations will require a total investment of around 523 million yuan (US$75.77 million), the group said. The pipeline is designed to deliver 2.9 million tons of diesel and gasoline per year, and is due to come on stream in May 2009, it added. (June 12, 2008)
