Sinopec signs deal with China Merchants Group to supply lubes

Sinopec Lubricant Co. has signed a deal with China Merchants Group to supply lubricants to a VLCC (very large crude carrier). Usually, the lubricants used by VLCCs are provided by foreign oil firms and rarely by Chinese oil firms given the strict requirement. Market analysts reckon Chinese oil firms now have the ability to provide lubricants service to the VLCC. Two months ago, Sinopec supplied two Singaporean VLCCs with lubricants and services.
