Sinopec operates new product pipeline to Suzhou
A new oil product pipeline of Sinopec starting from Shanghai Petrochemical, a subsidiary of Sinopec, and extending to Suzhou in East China’s Jiangsu province went into operation on November 16. The 76 km pipeline is capable of carrying 2.5 million tons of oil products a year. It will eventually join with the Southern Jiangsu oil product pipeline, which is under construction. The operation of the pipeline will lower Sinopec’s oil product distribution cost and help it to consolidate market share in the East China market, where it competes with PetroChina. (December 8, 2008)
