Sinopec denies gasoline quality problem in Hainan
Sinopec Corp. denied that gasoline it sold in south China’s Hainan province has quality problems. It has not received any complaints from consumers about gasoline quality sold at all service stations operated by Sinopec in Hainan, according to a statement from the Hainan Branch of Sinopec on May 9. The statement clarified that oil products for the Hainan market are from Sinopec’s Hainan Refinery, which is equipped with high refining technologies. The refinery also sells its oil products to Guangdong and Hong Kong. The statement came after local media reported that Sinopec’s gasoline in Hainan was suspected to be responsible for the breakdown of several vehicles since late April. (May 10, 2010)
