Sinopec boosts Tahe refining capacity
China Petroleum & Chemical Corp. (Sinopec) has completed construction of heavy crude oil treating facilities at its Tahe subsidiary, in northwestern China’s Xinjiang region, boosting the unit’s crude refining capacity to 100,000 barrels per day (bpd), the China Petrochemical News reported. The plant is designed to process inferior thick oil from the Tahe oilfield, a major producer of Sinopec’s Northwest Oilfield Co. that produced 142,380 bpd of oil in 2009. (July 2, 2010)
