SICCAS and Corning open joint research facility in China
The Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy of Sciences (SICCAS) and Corning Inc. announced the opening of a joint research facility in Jiading, Shanghai. The new facility will investigate technologies in support of Corning products globally. The cooperative effort will allow Corning access to SICCAS’ expertise in materials science and technology. Research into thermoelectric technologies at the SICCAS Corning facility could produce new high performance materials with applications in the automotive industry. U.S.- based Corning produces specialty glass and ceramics. ”We are committed to working with local technology leaders to create knowledge for future products for use in China and other regions of the world. Corning’s continued success in China will be supported by our sustained investment in research and development.
