SIA now a member of sustainable aviation fuel users group
Singapore Airlines (SIA) recently joined the Sustainable Aviation Fuel Users Group (SAFUG). The group’s goal is to accelerate the development and production of lower carbon renewable aviation fuels. SIA said that its participation in the group is in line with the company’s commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. SIA’s fleet is composed of young, modern and fuel efficient aircraft averaging six years in fleet age. The airline has been an early adopter of technology and was the first airline to operate fuel-efficient aircraft like the Airbus A380. (September 7, 2011)
