Shenhua Group wins wholesale license to sell CTL

China’s top coal mine operator, the Shenhua Group, has obtained a license to sell oil products on a wholesale basis produced at its coal-to-liquid facilities in Erdos, in north China’s Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. China’s Ministry of Commerce announced that the wholesale license has been granted to the China Shenhua Coal Liquefaction Corp., Shenhua Erdos Coal Liquefaction Co. and four other companies. Li Ningning, vice director of the department of industry with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), said Shenhua Group’s 1-million-ton coal-to-liquid (CTL) facility produced about 100,000 metric tons of gasoline and diesel oil in 2009.
