Shenhua Energy chairman retires
China Shenhua Energy Co. said that Chairman Chen Biting has retired, and is succeeded by Zhang Xiwu, who was general manager of parent Shenhua Group Corp. Shenhua Energy, China’s largest integrated coal company by output said Chen also stepped down as an executive director of the company. Chen, who is 63, has passed Chinese state companies’ standard retirement age of 60 years old. The 50-year-old Zhang is a board director of Shenhua Energy and has worked as chairman of various units of the company, including Shenhua Dongsheng Coal Co. (December 30, 2008)
