Shengquan and Novozymes sign agreement to commercialize cellulosic ethanol
Novozymes, a Danish enzyme company, and Shengquan Group of China announced that they had entered into partnership to commercialize cellulosic ethanol. In June, Shengquan Group will begin the commercial production of cellulosic ethanol for solvent and biochemicals using the technology from Novozymes. The group is based in Shandong and specializes in the production of furan resin and polymers. Novozymes is a world leader in bio innovation. “Shengquan has profound experience in chemical production and is a leading company in commercializing cellulosic ethanol,” said Poul Ruben Andersen, vice president for Bioenergy at Novozymes. “Novozymes is proud to join Shengquan in nurturing a green and circular bioeconomy which lessens the dependence on fossil fuel resources.” (April 25, 2012)
