Shell’s Santiago to retire

Eliseo Santiago, Shell’s vice president for Retail East, who will be retiring in October, will be succeeded by Cesar Romero, currently Shell’s vice president for Supply East. During his incumbency, Santiago was responsible for maintaining growth and profitability in the established East markets comprised of Malaysia, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines and the North Pacific Islands, Thailand and Laos, Australia, New Zealand, Oman and Pakistan, as well as managing new market entries into the fast-growing markets of India and Indonesia. Before his promotion to this regional posting, Santiago was chairman-CEO of the Shell Group of Companies in the Philippines. His successor, Cesar Romero, held various posts in Supply, Lubricants, Strategy, Planning and Consulting, as well as in Retail. Romero’s first Retail job involved managing 25 stations in the Philippines, after which he became retail general manager of Pilipinas Shell & the North Pacific Cluster. (August 30, 2009)
