Shell unveils new lubricants blending plant in Russia

Shell opened a major new lubricants blending plant, the first built by an international oil company, in Russia on October 3.
The new plant in Torzhok, in the Tver region northwest of Moscow, is ideally located to supply a range of finished consumer, transport and industrial lubricants to customers in Russia. It can blend up to 200 million liters of lubricants a year, making it one of the largest in Shell’s current global plant network.
With the new plant now on stream, Shell’s industrial lubricants customers in Russia will be able to receive bulk delivery of finished lubricants, speeding up delivery times and reducing storage costs. As the plant ramps up to full capacity, there may also be potential to serve neighbouring countries, Shell said.
