Shell to stop retail of 92-octane petrol
Royal Dutch Shell P.L.C. said it will stop offering 92-octane gasoline in Singapore, to cater to the growing demand for higher octane grades. Shell Formula 92 petrol will be phased out from the 19 stations where it is currently available throughout the end of June. Shell has 65 stations in Singapore. Dropping 92-octane, the company said, will optimize the Shell network by freeing up tank space for more popular grades of petrol. Demand for Shell’s higher octane fuels has grown, so fuels, such as 95 octane petrol, now account for close to 50% of its total volume, followed by 98 octane and Shell’s premium V-Power fuel.
